An HY300 box is small and packed tight, and the first job is knowing what should be in it. Most brands ship the projector with its swivel stand already attached, a power adapter or cable, a remote and a folded instruction sheet.

A few things are rarely included. Chicdaze and WOOPKER both remind owners to buy an HDMI cable separately, and replacement remotes arrive without AAA batteries. Tripod bundles are the exception to the small box: Magcubic packs its Pro+, Pro, original HY300 and Ultra with a 47-inch folding tripod.

HY300 projector setup takes a handful of steps at the first switch-on, and all of them run from the remote. Put the projector on a steady surface first; a wobbling bedside table makes focus and keystone drift every time someone sits down.
Expect the first update to take a while on slower connections. Leave the projector on and the stand still until it restarts.

Two adjustments turn a blurry trapezoid into a clean rectangle: focus and keystone. Do them in that order, with the projector sitting where it will stay for the film.
Focus comes first. On manual-focus models such as the Magcubic Pro+, the 2026 Pro and the Alwtniet Pro, a ridged wheel beside the lens moves the glass in and out. Open a menu with small text and turn slowly until the letters stop swimming. Electric-focus models do it from the remote: SKUOU's HY300 Plus uses the F+ and F- buttons, and Magcubic's Ultra focuses the same way.
Keystone comes second. Almost every HY300 corrects vertical tilt on its own, so tipping the stand up toward the wall still gives straight top and bottom edges. Sideways angles are different:

Magcubic's HY300 Ultra focuses electrically from the remote and squares itself with auto vertical keystone. Android 14 on an Allwinner H726 and a 260 ANSI light source round it out.
Start the showMost HY300 control lives on the remote, not the body. The body usually carries a power key and little else, so a lost or dead remote is the most common reason an owner goes hunting for a manual.
The infrared remotes that ship with the Pro and original HY300 families carry about fifteen keys, which is the count on the common replacements. Expect this set:
Magcubic's air-mouse remote on the Pro+ and Ultra adds a pointer and a microphone button. Wave the remote and a cursor follows, which helps in apps built for phones. Amovfilm mentions that the mobile version of Netflix on its projector needs this mouse mode, and that a plain USB mouse plugged into the projector works as well.
Batteries go flat faster than people expect on an air mouse. Keep spares near the sofa, and take them out if the projector sits unused for months. If the remote is gone for good, a replacement remote costs little, but match the brand and model before ordering.
